Getting started
On this page
Welcome to Closer. In a few minutes you can have a website online at its own address, with a visual editor, a contact form that collects inquiries, and a small store for digital products. This page walks you through your first steps.
Create your account
- Go to the sign-up page and click Sign up.
- Enter your Name, Email and a Password (at least 10 characters), then repeat the password. If the terms and privacy policy are published, tick I accept the Terms and Privacy policy; without it the account is not created.
- Click Create account. You are signed in right away and land on My sites.
We also send you an email with a confirmation link. Until you click it, a reminder Confirm your email address stays at the top of My sites. If the email did not arrive, check your spam folder or click Send again.
Confirming your email matters: billing notices and account messages can only reach you at a confirmed address.
Your free trial
Every new account starts with a free trial. During the trial everything is unlocked, with the limits of our most popular plan, so you can build and test your site properly.
- At the top of My sites you see how many days are left, for example Free trial: 5 days left.
- We send you a reminder email a few days before the trial ends and the day before.
- AI is included in the trial with a share of the plan's monthly AI credits. See AI assistant.
- To keep your sites online after the trial, click Choose a plan. See Plans and billing.
If the trial ends without a plan, your sites go offline and the editor is locked, but nothing is deleted: choose a plan and you continue where you left off.
Create your first site
When you have no sites yet, My sites shows two ways to start:
- Build my site with AI (recommended): describe your business in a sentence or two and get a whole site in about a minute.
- Start from a template: browse ready-made designs with a full live preview and pick one.
Either way, you give the site a name and an address like my-company.closer.rs, and it is online right away with HTTPS. The full walkthrough is in Creating a site.
A tour of the dashboard
The menu on the left is your home base. It is open by default; the button next to the logo collapses it to icons (handy in the editor) and expands it again. Closer remembers your choice on this device, in the editor too. On a phone the menu is hidden behind the ☰ button in the bar at the top and slides in over the page; tap outside it to close it.
Main menu
| Menu item | What it is for |
|---|---|
| My sites | All your sites as cards, with visitors, people on the site Now, New inquiries and Sales for the last 7 days. Click New site to add another one. |
| Inbox | Inquiries and newsletter subscribers from all your sites in one place. See Inbox. |
| Account | Profile, password, two-factor sign-in, plan and billing, notifications, dashboard language. See Account and security. |
| Support | Write to the Closer team. See Getting help. |
| Help | This help center. Use the search box to find any topic. |
Your site's menu
When you open a site (click its name or Overview on its card), a second group with the site's name appears in the menu:
| Menu item | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Overview | Visits, who is on the site right now, top pages, where visitors come from, latest inquiries and purchases. |
| Editor | The visual editor where you change everything visitors see. See The editor. |
| Domain | Your free address and your own domain. See Domain. |
| Inquiries | Inquiries and subscribers of this site only. |
| Store | Products, orders and Stripe payments. See Store. |
| Images | All images you uploaded. Images used on the site cannot be deleted. |
| History | Every version you published; restore an older one if needed. |
| Email settings | How the site sends emails. See Email settings. |
| Open site | Opens the live site in a new tab. |
First steps
Once you have a site, My sites shows a First steps card with a progress bar and five steps. Click a step to go where it is done:
- Create your site.
- Make it yours in the editor and publish: ticked after you publish your own changes for the first time.
- Send a test message from your contact form: opens your site; send yourself a message and check it arrives in the Inbox.
- Connect your own domain (optional). See Domain.
- Choose a plan. See Plans and billing.
Finished steps are ticked by themselves. If Closer cannot see a step you did (for example you tested your form in another way), click its circle to tick it yourself; click again to undo. The optional domain step never keeps the card open: it disappears when the other steps are done. Mark all done or the × button hides it earlier.
Small helpers
- A number next to Inbox or Inquiries shows new, unread inquiries. It refreshes by itself, and you see a short notice when a new inquiry arrives.
- A number next to Support means the Closer team replied to your ticket. It disappears once you open the ticket.
- An Unpublished badge on a site card means the editor has changes that visitors do not see yet. Open the editor and click Publish.
Your first hour: a checklist
- Create the site (AI or template).
- In the editor, click any text in the preview and change it to your own words.
- Replace the images with your own (click an image field, then Upload).
- Add your contact details and chat buttons in the Widgets tab (Design and widgets).
- Set up Email settings so you get notified about new inquiries.
- Click Publish.
- Share your link, then check Overview to see the first visits.
